FORE!!
Recently, I dove headfirst into my 2009 summer employment: snack bar/beverage cart girl at this gorgeous golf course.
Now, please, don't think this is a cake job. Believe me, it has its trials.
It was my first day on the course and with a ridiculously large beverage cart, I was afraid of getting in the way.

It was my first day on the course and with a ridiculously large beverage cart, I was afraid of getting in the way.
- First of all, I think the cart is distracting to the golfers.
- Second of all, it's not on my bucket list to get hit by a golf ball. (I've heard it hurts.)
I silently thanked the grove of trees that were protecting me.
As I looked back, I realized, with horror, that I had been parked
in
the
middle
of
the
fairway.
Embarrassing, dangerous, stupid, embarrassing.
And embarrassing.
There's a learning curve. I think I'll make it.

goin' steady for good
Today, I was lucky enough to attend Central Cass High School's performance of Bye Bye Birdie. I'll preface by saying, Bye Bye Birdie is a really tough musical. The music is zany and the humor is a muted kind of wit.
Moreover, Bye Bye Birdie is not totally well-known or recognizable.
Still, the students of the CCHS drama department killed it. They nailed the music and brilliantly executed the humor. Bravo guys.
I'm sorry I don't have video from today's performance, but this will give you an idea of the kind of music the students were working with.

Happy Mother's day, mama bear. I love you.

phat as a cow
Today on twitter watch, I learned that Oprah's KFC giveaway is not valid in some areas and that Drew Peterson was finally arrested for his third wife's murder.
Cool twits!
As far as twitter is concerned, the verdict is still out. I'll make my final decision after this semester's finals.
While doing a little twittersearch, I found a perfect segway to my next topic. Several twitterers' tweets featured links to Gossip Rex's Dumb B**** of the Day! post. I bet you can guess the topic.
It's websites like these (and a big assignment) that inspired the creation of this video. Sadly, cyberbullying is a real and present factor in many kids' (and adults') lives.
The video was made using the newest version of iMovie. You probably noticed that I ran into some difficulties, but overall the project was a lot of fun. Thanks to my acting troop. You guys are the phattest!

mano a mano
First, I mourned the death of the old relationship with "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me." Then, "I'm Still Standing" helped me to become empowered and strong. I celebrated my individuality with "Philadelphia Freedom" and danced with "Crocodile Rock."
Time passed and a new guy won my affection. Even then, "Your Song" reminded me of how great he was. That's the best thing about my relationship with John's music--while it's completely faithful, it doesn't require monogamy.
So, when my new guy told me he had gotten us tickets to the upcoming Elton John/Billy Joel concert, I was more than excited.
The two opened with a beautiful arrangement of "Your Song."
Funny right?
I cried.
Billy Joel rocked.
Elton John rolled.
It was fabulous.
